CIEH Level 3 Certificate in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice

 

Who is this course for?
The CIEH Level 3 Award in Certificate in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice is suitable for all Managers and Supervisors who have a responsibility for the Health and Safety of employees, clients and members of the public.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements, although it is recommended that candidates have previously received basic Health and Safety training, and have experience of Health and Safety Management in the Workplace, including Risk Assessment.

What will I study?
Delegates will be encouraged to discuss their own work place experiences and begin to assess existing measures to control any hazards with balance and measure. Whilst on the course delegates will complete a live Risk Assessment of their own workplace.

• To develop an appreciation of the evolution of health and safety law

• Appreciate the legal duties of employers and employees

• Obtain an overview of corporate responsibilities for contractors, agency personnel, visitors and others

• To understand the different types of law that impact on health and safety e.g. common, civil & criminal law

• Gain an understanding of the penalties for breaching the above law

• Understand the language and methodology of the risk assessment process

• Gain a sound practical appreciation of how to carry out risk assessments

• Be introduced to practical work place tools that delegates will use when they return to their individual work places e.g. check sheets and risk assessment matrixes

How will I be assessed?
The course runs over 2 days separated by 2 weeks, in which time delegates will build a portfolio; including conducting a live workplace risk assessment and self evaluation which will be marked by CIEH.

What can I do after the course?
This course can be used as an entry to CIEH Level 4 Advanced Health and Safety
